The Texas Public Relations Association highlighted the state's top PR campaigns and practitioners recently, recognizing 20 companies and universities with its coveted Silver Spur Award.
Winning Silver Spur entries ranged from "Connecting the Dots Job Shadowing Program" by San Antonio's CPS Energy to the "Lady Bird Johnson Tribute" by Austin-based Elizabeth Christian & Associates Public Relations.

Public Relations Foundation of Texas Educator of the Year

The Public Relations Foundation of Texas launched its Texas Educator of the Year Award at the TPRA conference in San Antonio honoring Douglas Ann Newsom, Ph.D., Professor of Journalism at TCU, as our inaugural recipient.
A long time TPRA member, past president and charter life member of PRFT, Dr. Newsom is an accredited member of PRSA and a member of the PRSA College of Fellows. She is co-author of three textbooks, co-editor of a women's studies book and author of 12 book chapters.
