2009 Silver Spur & Best of Texas Awards

 

 
The Silver Spur/Best of Texas Awards recognize the finest work produced each year by public relations professionals throughout the State of Texas.
 
The Texas Public Relations Association of Texas (TPRA), founded in 1954 and Texas’ only statewide public relations organization, conducts the competition. This year’s contest is also co-sponsored by the Austin, Central Texas, Dallas, Greater Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio chapters of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Silver Spur Awards
Recognizing the Highest Achievement in Public Relations Programs or Projects
The Silver Spur Award honors outstanding professional achievement in developing and implementing significant public relations programs or projects for employers or clients. A winning Silver Spur entry clearly demonstrates that sound public relations objectives and philosophy were incorporated into the program and that high standards of research, planning, execution and evaluation were met. 
 

Work produced by Texas public relations practitioners may be entered in any of the Silver Spur Awards competition categories. An entry may be submitted in more than one category, but a separate fee and entry binder is required for each category entered.

Best of Texas Awards
Outstanding Application of Specific Public Relations Tools and Techniques
The Best of Texas Awards recognize outstanding achievement using individual communications tools in support of specific public relations objectives. A winning Best of Texas entry demonstrates superior use of the communications tool employed and documents that the rationale and execution led to desired results in support of a specific public relations objective. 
 
Awards Levels - Silver, Bronze and Merit Awards may be given in each Best of Texas Category.
 

Work produced by Texas public relations practitioners may be entered in any of the Best of Texas Awards competition categories. There are no separate categories for For-Profit and Nonprofit employers or clients. An entry may be submitted in more than one category, but a separate fee and entry binder is required for each category entered.
