...getting the word out about the 2010 Texas PR Leadership Day and Gala on March 5 in Austin. They are members of Texas State University profession Dara Quackenbush’s senior PR campaigns class.
They are leading the efforts in communications by leveraging our two social media platforms – our blog, Communicators Connexion and Twitter.
BRETT CANNON is a Public Relations senior at Texas State University in San Marcos, where he plans to graduate in December. Brett is the owner of Paper Thin Media, a boutique entertainment PR firm specializing in music and film publicity. After graduation he plans on focusing all of his attention on growing his company.
CHELSEA COVER is a senior at Texas State University-San Marcos where she is studying Mass Communications with a focus in Public Relations and minor in business. Chelsea is very involved in the Texas State community and her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. In 2008, Chelsea was elected Recording Secretary, Leadership Chair and Scholarship Assistant. She is now the Recruitment Vice President, planning large events and developing creative advertisements to gain interest of potential new members for the sorority. Chelsea also works as a team supervisor to maintain budgets, schedules, and uses public relation techniques and marketing tools to promote Alpha Delta Pi events held throughout the year. After graduation in December of 2009, Chelsea plans to pursue a job in public relations or marketing. Chelsea is currently looking for a fall 2009 intern opportunity. She hopes to somehow incorporate her passion for event planning in her intern experience, and possibly in her future career.
JAKE BALSAM is currently enrolled full time at Texas State University-San Marcos where he is studying public relations and psychology. After he graduates, he plans on earning a master’s degree. Jake transferred to Texas State in the spring of 2008 from Austin Community College where he took his basic courses. Jake plans on getting a job with a sports team as their public relations advisor after he has his master’s.
KANDYCE PALAMARCHUCK (PAUL-MER-CHUCK) is a senior at Texas State University majoring in public relations and minoring in sociology. She plans to graduate in December 2009 and pursue a career in public relations. Kandyce is currently studying for the LSAT in hopes of attending law school. She wants to use her skills acquired from PR to make a dynamic impact in the world of law.
