Silver Spur Recognizes Boundless’ Groundbreaking Efforts in Digital PR
AUSTIN, Texas – March 26, 2009 – Boundless Network (http://www.boundlessnetwork.com), a technology-enabled branded merchandise distributor, was awarded a 2009 Silver Spur from the Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA) for its digital corporate identity campaign. Diverge Communications, a digital public relations firm, worked with Boundless to achieve the company’s business objectives using a mix of traditional and digital public relations.
In winning the Silver Spur, Boundless Network bested agencies and companies of all sizes in the Corporate Identity category in Texas’ only statewide public relations awards program. The Corporate Identity award recognizes communications programs that promote awareness of a company’s brand to its audiences. Silver Spur winners in other categories include the US Army, Shell Oil, American Airlines, Kimberly-Clark and Center Point Energy.
“Innovation and technology is the core of Boundless Network, we felt it was vital to carry those values through to our public relations and marketing outreach,” said Boundless Network CEO Jason Black. “Our willingness to embrace online and social media sets us apart from other distributors in the promotional products industry. As a result of using tools like blogs, Twitter and creating our own social networking communities online, Boundless has been able to develop more pervasive connections with our key audiences.”
Boundless Network worked with Diverge Communications to create an online identity for the company. Using a combination of social networking and Web 2.0 tools, as well as traditional public relations methods, Boundless continued its record of 100 percent annual growth, achieving 147 percent growth in 2008. Throughout the year, the company’s online presence increased as a result of CEO Jason Black’s Blog, the launch of a social media website and newsroom, and the distribution of a series of videos via YouTube.
Boundless’ efforts with new digital tools have led to better than anticipated results. In an interview with Counselor Magazine, Boundless Network Senior Marketing Communications Manager Courtney Powell said, “Our [social media] strategy has been incredibly valuable for us. Boundless reached all of its PR goals for 2008 by expanding its public relations efforts into the digital realm.”
The Austin Business Journal recently ranked Boundless Network as the No. 2 fastest growing company in Central Texas in the more than $10 million in revenue category. The company was also recognized as the No. 6 best place to work in the promotional products industry by the Advertising Specialty Institute out of more than 16,000 companies in the industry.
